Finally, after three weeks of training I left for my ship! Since it was a brand new ship we had to pick it up in Fincantieri's Shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. We stayed in the shipyard for a week and then headed for Ft. Lauderdale. It took us a little over a week to get to Ft. Lauderdale. I was so happy to see land! I felt like we were in the movie "Waterworld."
The shipyars is up at the top of the boot (by the knee) then we headed down towars the heel and across the top. We stopped in spain for a couple of hours then headed to Florida!

The whole inagural crew. Those are all of my nametags from each ship.

The Sanctuary (my office...I'm pretty sure I'm in the cabana to the right)
Calypso pool
During the crossing we had to do a bunch of drills to get ready for the coastgaurd inspection. You weren't allowed to take elevators... and my station was on deck 14! :/
Half of the spa team. The others had to stay in London for two more weeks because they didn't have a passport to get into Italy.
Our rooms were pretty sweet! This was our huge desk. The bathroom was to the right.. bunk beds to the left. Right behind me is where out wardrobes were. There was actually a lot of storage in the room. You can see the flat screen tv and the dvd player. There was this channel on tv that would show the front of the ship and another channel that would show our stats and where we were headed.
As most of you know I am a VERY picky person! This is what I bought after a month and a half of being out of the states! Haha. Everyone came to my room for food!
This is what i ate daily. I bought my own cheese, bacon and ranch to put on salads! notice my towel dog that my friend christian made for me :)
After our maiden voyage this was our itinerary for 7 day cruising. After leaving Ft. Lauderdale we had a sea day. First stop was Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Then Grand Caymon in the Caymon Islands (in this port we had to use the tender boats to get to shore because the dock was too shallow). Next was Cozumel, Mexico. Then we had another sea day. We ended the cruise with Princess Cays, Bahamas.
This is a video tour of the Ruby Princess.
The whole time we were doing the crossing we got to live like passangers. We didn't have to wear our uniform in passanger areas, we got to eat for free at all the restuarants, and we had parties out on the open deck. Every wednesday we would have a "disco".. which was basically a crew party. Phone cards were $10 for an hour and internet cards were $20 for three hours. This picture was taken in the crew bar.
Out to eat at the Crown Grill
The Ruby Red crew party. Nobody really wore red.. haha
Another disco.
This was the pink disco hosted by the spa.. ok well the afterparty. Apparently I don't have any pictures from the actual disco.
Annndddddd II'mmm proud to be an American...! haha. You have to understand that there were maybe 15 Americans working on board. So when we had a little bit too much to drink we would start singing. Haha.

Christian from Romania
It's amazing that I got all of our heads in this picture!
Even hallway partys! :)
Ok! So.. now were going to talk about my roommates on the good old Ruby. During the whole crossing I had a cabin to myself (because the rest of the spa was meeting us in Ft. Lauderdale.)
Roommate #1! Carmen from Romania! She was the assistant spa manager that got promoted to spa manager and was transferred to another ship. She is now on the Golden Princess.
Roommate #2! Lisa from the Isle of Man (which is a little island between England and Ireland.) Lisa was born to be on a facial column. She was the one that I became the closest with during those eight months. The day that we moved in together she fell off the top bunk and sprained her wrist. She was medically debarked. :/ A few months later she returned to sea on the Independance of the Seas.
Roommate #3! Dirty hole Nicole from OH IO! She was the craziest, funniest, most awesome roommate that tink could ask for! :) Every day off we would do something different in Cozumel. Renting a jeep and driving around the island going bar hopping was one of my favorites!Nicole was a hairstylest/teethwhitener. Her goal during the Christmas cruise was to make our manager shit her pants! (her retail was unbelievable!) She was my last roommate on the Ruby. She finished her contract while doing the mediterranean run.
Halloween during the crossing. We all had to improvise since we we're at sea!

New years on the Ruby
This is Jeremy. Nicoles boyfriend. He's one of the singers on board. They have two shows, "Once upon a dream" and "Broadway ballroom."
Sophia (Canada) and I, my massage partner in our cabana.
Getting products that we needed. They put a lot of pressure on us to retail.
Liz (England) during port clean. At the end of every cruise we had to clean the spa spotless and get everything ready for spa tours the next day.
Cabanas all nice and pretty. These were in the Sanctuary at the top and front of the ship. We had the best views for sunsets. :)
A water spout Sophia and I found.
Random days in Cozumel.
Formal night after Cozumel. I was sooo sunburnt!
Ochio Rios, Jamaica
Pirate ship :)
Paintings in the gallery on board.
My favorite... too bad it's like $1500
Our port in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl
After three months and some really good times on board, my frined, sophia and I, got transferred to the Holland America Westerdam ship.
